LIGHTING DESIGNER
BGL Magazine is searching for a passionate, organized, and talented individual fill the role as the Lighting Designer for the Issue 11 Cover Photoshoot to capture a compelling editorial image for the front cover ; and is responsible for the following:
Creating a lighting design moodboard that helps translate the message of the issue/feature, the talent, and the publication voice/values, and sharing it with EIC, EA, and CT for overall culmination + approval.
Attend 2 pre-production meetings + 1 post-production meeting for CT coordinating + creative expectations, edit/final look requests.
Communicate equipment needs to EIC + E.A (editorial assistant).
Use a BGL volunteer as your assistant if + when needed.
Assist in lighting setup, breakdown, and safe equipment handling.
Test lighting before talent arrives to ensure consistency.
Collaborate with the Photographer and Creative Director to adjust lighting throughout the shoot.
Communicate creative boundaries with CT.
Translate your authentic voice + artistry through the physical lighting design while maintaining publication voice/values.
Make talent feel safe + valued.
Complete an on-set interview.
Take periodic rest + nourishment.
Maintain consistent communication with EA + EIC about progress + process.
Maintain kind + efficient communication while passing guests.
Payment: $1000
all work done by the L.D will be credited with their name & position title
